Non ci sono dati sufficienti per valutare la cancerogenicità nell'uomo. La somministrazione orale produce nel topo maschio un aumento dell'incidenza di tumori delle cellule epatiche.

Fumigante per suolo, insetticida, solvente per oli lubrificanti, sgrassante per fibre tessili, vernici e lacche, intermedio per sintesi organiche (produzione agenti imbibenti e penetranti), sverniciante.
